Rolf Smit to be proposed for appointment to KAS BANK’s Supervisory Board

Mr. R. (Rolf) Smit (1950) is to be proposed for appointment as a new member of the Supervisory Board of KAS BANK N.V. The Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of KAS BANK later this year will be invited to approve Mr. Smit’s proposed appointment. KAS BANK’s Supervisory Board intends to appoint Mr. Smit as its chairman with effect from 1 January 2011.

Mr. Smit held various posts at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. between 1985 and 2009. He was Chief Financial Officer of the Dutch operations from 2006 to 2009, having previously served as Group Treasurer from 2001 to 2005 and CEO of ABN AMRO Germany from 1994 to 2000. He was also chairman of the Investment Committee of the ABN AMRO pension fund.

Mr. Smit is currently running his own investment management company, which seeks to encourage entrepreneurship with the focus on innovative business models. He has a degree in business economics.

Mr. Smit has Dutch nationality and holds no KAS BANK shares. His proposed appointment, which is conditional upon approval by the regulator, will fill the vacancy caused by the departure of D.J.M.G. Baron van Slingelandt earlier this year.
